Wolves add two players to roster

The Vancouver Canucks have assigned defenseman Frank Corrado to the Chicago Wolves. In addition, the Wolves have signed goaltender Joe Cannata to an amateur tryout contract.

Corrado completed his third Ontario Hockey League season on March 28 when the Sudbury Wolves were swept, 4 games to none, by the Brampton Battalion in the first round of the OHL’s Eastern Conference Championship. He recorded 12 penalty minutes in four postseason games.

The 19-year-old defenseman ranked third among Sudbury blueliners with 23 assists and shared second among team rear guards with 26 points in 60 regular-season outings.

Cannata completed his senior campaign at Merrimack College (Hockey East) this year, posting a 17-12-7 record, and career-bests 2.18 goals-against average and .925 save percentage in 36 contests. His 2.18 goals-against average ranked 14th in the NCAA, while his .925 save percentage held 11th nationally.

The Wolves continue their season-high seven-game road trip when they visit San Antonio for a game against the Rampage at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the AT&T Center.
