CLC speech team success

The College of Lake County speech team earned a bronze medal and team members also earned medals in individual events at a regional tournament on March 17. The following students placed in individual events: Becca Townsend (Round Lake Beach), Sam Nuccio (Antioch) and Allie Alleman (Gurnee) received a bronze medal in readers theatre; Becca Townsend received a silver medal in prose reading; Allie Alleman received a bronze medal in prose reading; Leo Bekerman (Deerfield) received a bronze medal in impromptu speaking; and Stacy Bagrova (Deerfield) received a silver medal in communication analysis and a gold medal in informative speaking. The nine-member team will compete at the Phi Rho Pi national tournament April 9-14 in Schaumburg. Communication Professor Lynn Harper directs the speech team, assisted by Communication Professor Joel Chmara.
