DuPage District 3 incumbents win

Two DuPage County Board incumbents and a mayor on Tuesday earned the Republican Party’s nomination for three District 3 seats on the county board.

With all 128 precincts reporting, unofficial results from the District 3 primary race show incumbents John Curran and Brian Krajewski with 12,731 and 11,911 votes. Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso captured the nomination for the third seat with 10,746 votes.

Retired DuPage Judge Ken Moy of Hinsdale finished fourth with 8,959 votes, according to unofficial totals.

Curran, Brian Krajewski and Grasso will face Democrat Sharon Bryant of Bolingbrook in the November general election.

District 3 includes all or portions of Bolingbrook, Burr Ridge, Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Lemont, Naperville, Westmont, Willowbrook and Woodridge.

One incumbent was missing from the primary race. Board member Michael McMahon several months ago made a surprise announcement that he’s stepping down once his term ends in November.

During the campaign, Grasso said that he plans to continue to serve as a mayor of Burr Ridge if he’s elected to the county board.
