Don’t elect Lauzen ever again

Chris Lauzen has been an Illinois State Senator for 20 years; he is now running for Kane County Board Chairman. Chris’ job as a state senator is that of lawmaker.

The other day, he held a campaign rally at a Geneva intersection that has a red-light camera. Chris is a vehement opponent of red light cameras, indicating that they infringe on people’s “freedom.” It is a violation of Illinois law to have a vehicle enter an intersection if a red light is displayed. Lauzen doesn’t want to ticket red-light offenders; he is vigorously defending citizens’ “freedom” to violate this particular law.

Chris, hired by us as a lawmaker, says it is OK to be a lawbreaker of the red light law. That a high-ranking state lawmaker would object to punishing lawbreakers should surprise no one.

We can take a stand against Illinois lawmakers who want to ignore lawbreakers: don’t elect Chris Lauzen — ever again.
