Hoffman Estates man charged in four burglaries

Bail was set at $200,000 overall for a Hoffman Estates man who was charged Saturday with four counts of residential burglary, officials said.

Shahzeb Rizwan, 18, of Hoffman Estates, was charged in conjunction with burglaries that took place Feb. 8 on the 1500 block of Elmhurst Lane in Schaumburg, Feb. 21 on the 500 block of Linsey Avenue in Schaumburg, Feb. 28 on the 2100 block of Hitching Post Lane in Schaumburg, and March 1 on the 300 block of Ridge Circle in Streamwood, Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Casey Hunter said.

A second man, Sean Crower, 18, of Hanover Park, also was charged in conjunction with the March 1 burglary, officials said.

Rizwan, a graduate of Hoffman Estates High School, told authorities he is scheduled to attend Northern Illinois University in the fall. His juvenile record includes a March 2011 charge of battery and resisting a peace officer for which he is due in court Aug. 14, Hunter said.

Crower is a senior at Hoffman Estates High School; on Jan. 17 he pleaded guilty in Kane County to charges of criminal damage to property and was sentenced to two months of conditional discharge, Hunter said.

Rizwan's bail was set at $50,000 in each of the burglary charges. Crawler's bail was set at $40,000. Both are due in court March 7.
