PRENTISS, Miss. — Authorities are investigating the killings of three family members in their rural southern Mississippi home.

The bodies of 80-year-old Arvin Smith, 74-year-old Maxine Smith and their 48-year-old son Roland Smith were discovered early Friday. Jefferson Davis County Chief Investigator John Wayne Tolar told The Hattiesburg American (http://hatne.ws/xOw5il ) that some suspects are being interviewed.

Coroner Jim Slater said an autopsy late Friday confirmed that all three died from multiple gunshots.

A cousin of Arvin Smith Sue Smith said that she called police from her home across the street after hearing gunshots and seeing muzzle flashes.
