Bulls’ Watson says concussion was pretty bad

Now that more than a week has passed since his collision with New Jersey forward Kris Humphries, Bulls guard C.J. Watson can admit his concussion was bad enough that he needed to miss the last two games before the all-star break.

“It felt pretty bad. I had nausea and headaches all the time until like last Saturday, so it was pretty bad,” Watson said before Tuesday’s game. “I felt like I could play, but I kept getting headaches and stuff like that. It was probably better for me to sit out the way I did.”

In the fourth quarter of a loss to the Nets on Feb. 18, Watson came around a screen, dropped his head and crashed hard into Humphries’ chest. Despite the concussion, Watson said he does remember the collision happening.

“I remember it. I’ve seen it (on video) a lot of times,” he said. “It was painful when it happened. I was trying to just come off the pick hard like Thibs (coach Tom Thibodeau) was saying and ended up running into him.”

Was Watson coherent enough to wonder why no foul was called on the play?

“At the time, no. But when I look back on it, I wonder why there was no foul,” he said. “That’s just the way it is.”

Watson returned home to Las Vegas during the break but made sure he relaxed in quiet places until the headaches went away. He played seven minutes Tuesday and had 2 assists.

Chet vents about Hall:The Bulls have been on a Hall of Fame roll in recent years, with Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman and Johnny #147;Red#148; Kerr being inducted.Another player who got in this year is Chet Walker, who played for the Bulls from 1969-75. He was chosen for enshrinement by the veterans committee, but in an interview with Fox Sports Florida, Walker almost told the Hall to forget it.#147;I was happy, but I was not overwhelmed because I think I should have been in a long time ago, to be honest,#148; Walker said. #147;When you sit around for 25 years and you watch people go in with far less credentials than you have, then you have to say to yourself, #145;Something must be wrong,#146; Who knows (why)? Each year I#146;d hear I#146;d been eliminated by a couple of votes.#148;Walker said he told Basketball Hall of Fame president John Doleva to take his name off the list when former Celtics forward #147;Satch#148; Sanders was chosen by the veterans committee last year.No defense, no problem:For the past two days, reporters have asked coach Tom Thibodeau to comment about the utter lack of defense displayed in Sunday#146;s All-Star Game, but he has refused to take the bait.#147;It#146;s a great weekend for the league. It#146;s entertainment,#148; he said.#147;The players are going to put on a show. There#146;s not much defense that will be played in that game, but overall it#146;s a fantastic weekend for our league.#148;
