Donald S. Angelaccio has been hired as assistant superintendent for Prospect Heights School District 23.
Angelaccio currently serves as principal of Lincoln Middle School in Mount Prospect School District 57, a position he's held since 2004. Prior to that, he served three years as assistant principal at Deer Path Middle School in Lake Forest. He started his career as a social worker at Highland Middle School in Libertyville in 1994, and was athletic director there from 1999 to 2001.
Angelaccio will take over for Deb Wilson as she assumes the top leadership position in District 23 when current Superintendent Dr. Gregory P. Guarrine retires at the end of the school year.
A resident of Palatine, Angelaccio holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Loyola University, a master of science in social work from the University of Wisconsin, a master of science in education administration from Northern Illinois University, and a doctor of education from National-Louis University. In 2009, he was named Middle School Principal of the Year by the Illinois Principal's Association.
"I welcome the opportunity to serve the District 23 community and work with an administrative team that I know to be supportive, collaborative, and engaging," Angelaccio said.
Prospect Heights School District 23 serves Prospect Heights and areas of Wheeling, Arlington Heights, and Mount Prospect.
