D59 parents invited to dual language night

Salt Creek School hosts the District 59 Dual Language Program, which is now in its third year and will move into the fourth year in 2012-13.

The program integrates native English speaking students and native Spanish speaking students for academic instruction, which is presented in both languages.

The Dual Language Program is a districtwide choice program, meaning any families in District 59 are eligible to apply. A lottery system is used to select participants because the number of applicants typically exceeds the available slots.

Families of incoming kindergarten students can get more information by attending one of the upcoming parent information nights. The first will be on Wednesday, Feb. 8, and the second will be on Monday, Feb. 13, both 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Salt Creek School. Baby-sitting will be available, but call (847) 593-4375 to register if you need baby-sitting. Salt Creek School is at 65 Kennedy Blvd., Elk Grove Village.

Visit the District 59 website at www.ccsd59.org and look for the link called “Dual Language Parent Information” or call Salt Creek School at (847) 593-4375.
