If yes, please explain: NoCandidate's Key Issues Key Issue 1 Bringing businesses to the county through tax incentives. Re-train workers for future business ventures. The cities along the Fox and the outlying areas are so great and beautiful we must utilize all that we have to keep this county a thriving area.Key Issue 2 Stay true to the plans regarding the Regional Water Supply Planning Group and the 2040 Land Use Plan. The county has worked hard on designing these plans. Our vision of both urban and country must stay true in our ideals. Plan roads before housing!!Key Issue 3 Cut the county board even more.We need to distinguish our districts better between county and city.People who live in city limits get city services.If districts were made on the basis of services rendered we could probably make due with a 10 person board.The less egos in the Kane County Board room the better.Questions Answers Do you support a more stringent ethics ordinance for Kane County governing the conduct of elected officials and county employees' Why or why not? If so, what should the ordinance contain?The ethics ordinances the county currently has is detailed and through. Just enforce the rules.The county's portion of gambling proceeds has been decreasing every year for several years. What is your plan to prioritize use of that money? What might be done to wean the agencies and programs that receive this money off of it?The decrease was do to the state smoking law. The whole idea of casinos in Kane Co was to generate revenue. We should work with Hollywood and Grand Victoria casinos to allow smoking sections. We need to fund programs and agencies like we are doing now.The board tries to spread it around, which is a fair thing to do.We need to be realistic and promise only what we can pay.We are still in a hole from last year.Do you believe the Kane County court system needs a computer system upgrade that might cost as much as $12.6 million? If so, do you support using RTA sales tax money to fund the cost, or do you have a different plan? If not, what is your alternative plan?My understanding is that we purchased a new computer system and never paid for it to be upgraded. So now we need to spend 12.6 million to upgrade the system? Sounds to me like the board needs to come up with alternatives before using RTA tax money. Back to the drawing board.Do you believe county board members and the chairman should receive health insurance and pension benefits' If you are running for one of those positions, do you plan on accepting those benefits' Why or why not?I knew the Kane Co Chairman was a paid position but was not aware that board members were paid $24,000 a year until recently. I thought board members volunteered and it was more civic minded. I do not plan on accepting either health or pension benefits.How do you resolve the ongoing debate over the county board setting budgets for departments run by other elected officials whom the county board has no control over? How should the county board enforce the budgets it sets'The board needs to sit and listen. It needs to compromise. They need to come up with the best solutions possible so that departments can serve the citizens of the county.
