Jacobs wins 3rd straight FVC title

Led by Erica Smetters’ 1,196 series for 6 games, the Jacobs girls bowling team claimed the Fox Valley Conference championship Friday, rolling a team total of 5,399 at Brunswick Zone in Algonquin.

Grayslake North finished second in the tournament with a 4,658, Huntley was fourth at 4,536, Grayslake Central fifth (4,438) and Dundee-Crown sixth (4,277).

Ashley Rood help Jacobs claim its third straight FVC title by finishing third with an 1,144. Sarah Siska was fourth for the Golden Eagles with a 1,111 and Michlle Roman seventh with a 1,043.

Grayslake North’s Sarah Littleton captured second place individually with a 1,165. Huntley’s Amy Antczak was fifth (1,094) and Grayslake North’s Catherine Kowalski was eighth (1,002).

Dundee-Crown got a 10th place finish from Angela Settapani, who rolled a 968.
