Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 is looking to fill a vacancy on the school board after member Elva Arreola submitted her resignation last week, citing personal reasons and a realigning of her priorities.

In her resignation letter, Arreola thanked the board for the opportunity to serve. She has been a board member since 2009.

To apply for the vacancy, direct a letter including past and present involvement with District 21 to Board of Education, 999 West Dundee Road, Wheeling, IL 60090. Letters will be accepted until 4 p.m. Feb. 15.

The board will appoint a new member by the March meeting said Terry Fergus, executive assistant to the superintendent.
