Arlington Heights woman helps disabled kids one photo at a time

Felicia Reinhard, 20, of Arlington Heights runs Inspiration Through Art, a nonprofit organization she started in 2008 to brighten the lives of children with serious illnesses and life-altering disabilities. In addition to offering complimentary photo shoots, she sends care packages filled with handmade goodies.

Felicia Reinhard took this picture of 5-year-old Benny Watters and his sister at their Lake Forest home in 2010, shortly before he died of a brain tumor. The complimentary photo shoot is one of the services offered through Reinhard’s nonprofit organization.

Four years ago, Felicia Reinhard of Arlington Heights started Inspiration Through Art, a nonprofit organization that inspires people to give back through the beauty of art. She recruits artists to help children with disabilities by capturing their journeys with free photo shoots, art lessons, cards, gift packages and other events such as fundraisers.
