"When we got there, there was a fire in the equipment room with the electrical and the heating equipment for the car wash," Battalion Chief Mike Ahlman said.

Firefighters arrived two minutes after receiving the call, and had the fire out by 8:30 a.m. The fire was contained to the equipment room, and no vehicles were in the car wash at the time, Ahlman said.

The cause of the fire is undetermined. The Palatine and Palatine Rural fire departments assisted Rolling Meadows with the response.
