Lake Zurich Boy Scout Justin Katz has organized an American flag collection and retirement as part of his Eagle Scout project. In addition to setting up collection boxes through Lake Zurich, he and members of his troop will collect American flags from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Lake Zurich Jewel, 485 Ela Road. Katz also will hand out brochures on the proper way to maintain an American flag. All flags that Katz collects will be disposed of properly in a retirement ceremony Feb. 18.
