Highland School parent Jason Moede created the petition Sunday in response to the district's handling of possible boundary changes. Since Sunday, Moede has collected 165 names.
On Thursday morning, though, he asked guests to the website to stop signing.
"In the interest of promoting an honest, open-minded, and nonantagonistic exchange of ideas between District 203 and its residents, please consider this petition suspended until further notice," he wrote on the website. "Please refrain from signing this petition until notice has been given that the petition is reopened. Petitioners reserve the right to reopen the petition if the dialogue described above does not materialize."
Reached Thursday afternoon, Moede said he has "nothing new to say for the moment."
