Indian Trails library hosts “e-reader Extravaganza”

Indian Trails Public Library will host an “e-reader Extravaganza” on Saturday, Jan. 7, where staff will demonstrate how to download eBooks from the library's digital collection to e-readers, tablets, smartphones and computers.

Staff also will troubleshoot any electronic device problems patrons may have involving the downloading of library materials.

For those considering an e-reader purchase, several devices, including e-readers and tablets, will be available for “test-drives.”

The library also offers Kindles, Nooks and Nook Color units for patron checkout. All units are pre-loaded with several popular books.

Besides eBooks, the library offers free downloadable audio books, videos and music. The music is available through Freegal, a recently added service that allows patrons to download and keep up to three songs a week. The Freegal music library will be featured at the e-reader Extravaganza on Saturday

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Indian Trails Public Library, 355 S. Schoenbeck Road, Wheeling. For more information, call the library at (847) 459-4100.
