Fallen tree limbs knock out power in Carol Stream

Broken tree limbs fell on power lines leaving about 1,200 people in the dark Tuesday afternoon in Carol Stream.

Residents lost power around 2:30 p.m. and it was fully restored by 3:50 p.m., ComEd spokesman Tony Hernandez said.

The limbs fell on wires along Thunderbird and Arrowhead trails in the neighborhood south of Armstrong Park. The outages affected an area that extended west to Kuhn Road, north to Birchbark Trail and south to North Avenue, Village Manager Joe Breinig said.
