SUV rolls over at Route 53, I-90

A man was transported to a hospital for observation Tuesday morning after his Ford Explorer rolled over on a ramp between eastbound Interstate 90 and northbound Route 53, authorities said.

About 7:40 a.m. Schaumburg firefighters and Illinois State Police responded to the scene of the rollover. The driver of the Explorer, a man in his 30s, was the only person in the vehicle and did not have any obvious injuries, said Schaumburg fire Captain Frank Chambers.

When emergency crews arrived, the car was in a ditch between ramps and already had uprighted itself, Chambers said.

The one-car accident was cleaned up by about 8 a.m. with “very little” effect to traffic, Chambers said.
