The Des Plaines Public Library's bookmobile is making its final rounds this week. The mobile library retires on Saturday, Dec. 17.

The Des Plaines Public Library's bookmobile is making its final runs this week. The service will be discontinued this Saturday without fanfare. "It's sad to see them go," one patron said this week. He launched an unsuccessful Facebook campaign to save the service.
