Barrington police are cautioning residents to thoroughly screen potential caregivers following two arrests. Police said Dennis Ablang, 44, of Buffalo Grove was charged in the theft of more than $60,000 worth of jewelry from the resident of a Barrington retirement home. They said Gina Schoening, 46, of Elgin, arrested on traffic charges, is also under investigation for unauthorized credit card purchases.
