The Lake Villa District Library Board has appointed Bob Engelmann to fill a vacant trustee position. Engelmann has been a Lake Villa resident since 1997, and volunteering has been a mainstay of his life, library officials said. An avid reader and fan of the electronic age, Engelmann has embraced eBooks. The fast pace of technology is what prompted him to apply to the board. "I believe the library, as we see it today, will be changing dramatically," he said. "Libraries must compete and accommodate those who rely on electronics far more than past generations. I want to be part of moving the library forward." The Lake Villa District Library is at 1001 E. Grand Ave., Lake Villa.
