Glendale Heights man indicted in random sexual attacks

A DuPage County grand jury has indicted a man accused of sexually attacking three women near his home in Glendale Heights, authorities said Friday.

Adan Morales-Guerrero, 21, was indicted Thursday on charges of criminal sexual abuse, unlawful restraint and attempted criminal sexual assault.

He is accused of attacking two women in March and another in September on the 2300 block of Century Point, the same block as his listed address in court records.

Authorities said none of the victims knew the defendant, and the attacks happened randomly as they walked through a parking lot.

The indictment alleges Morales-Guerrero tackled a 41-year-old woman from behind, climbed on top of her, and inappropriately touched her on March 13.

Less than a week later, according to the charges, he grabbed a 31-year-old woman’s pants, started to pull them down, and kissed her.

Police arrested the suspect in September following a third episode in which he attacked a 33-year-old woman as she walked to her car, authorities said.

In that case, he was accused of pushing the woman to the ground and pulling her back down by her hair. The indictment alleges he covered the woman’s mouth and also touched her inappropriately.

No serious injuries were reported in any of the cases.

Police said a witness to the third attack chased and caught Morales-Guerrero while the witness’s friend called 911.

“One of the things that helped solve this case was alert citizens in the area,” Glendale Heights Cmdr. Steve Ewoldt said. “Together, they were able to help this woman and capture and hold the suspect until we arrived.”

Morales-Guerrero remained jailed Friday on $200,000 bail.

Police said anyone with information about possible additional attacks should call (630) 260-6070.
