Possible heroin death in Prospect Hts.

Police continue to investigate the death of a 37-year-old Prospect Heights woman, who is suspected to have died of a heroin overdose.

The woman, whose name has not yet been released, was found dead at 8:45 a.m. Sunday at her home on the 400 block of West Willow Road, said Prospect Heights Police Cmdr. Al Steffen.

Police suspect that heroin played a role in the “suspicious” death, due to the woman’s history, Steffen said.

The woman lived at the home with her family, including a 6-year-old child, according to police.

The official cause of death remained unknown Monday, and an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, according to police.
