Maine Township hosts gang awareness forum

MaineStay Youth and Family Services will conduct a community education forum on gang awareness from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Maine Township Town Hall, 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge.

The program will be moderated by Maine Township Trustee Laura Morask, a prosecutor with the Cook County state’s attorney’s office. There will be a panel discussion featuring experts in the field of gang awareness, including Kevin Hughes, deputy supervisor of the state’s attorney’s narcotics unit; Greg Jacobson, senior detective with the Chicago police department’s Gang Mission Team; Des Plaines Mayor Marty Moylan; and area police chiefs and schools officials.
