'Star Trek' fans flocking to Rosemont

The constellations have aligned over Rosemont for many stars from the TV series “Star Trek.” Several of its syndicated spinoffs and film versions are appearing this weekend at Creation Entertainment's “Official Star Trek Convention” at the Westin O'Hare Hotel.

Stars from the original series like Leonard Nimoy and Michelle Nichols are set to make appearances to help celebrate “Star Trek's” 45th Anniversary, as are actors like Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes and Rene Auberjonois from the 1990s TV spinoffs “The Next Generation” and “Deep Space Nine.”

According to the sponsor website creationent.com, tickets are sold out for events on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1 and 2 at 6100 River Road, Rosemont. Some tickets may be available at the door for entry Friday. For more information, visit creationent.com.
