Verdict in Naperville squatter case next month

A DuPage County judge will decide next month whether Naperville squatter Scott Huber is guilty of disorderly conduct and trespassing stemming from a confrontation with a local psychologist.

Huber, 60, is accused of chasing Kathy Borchardt into her office building and pounding on her door while taunting her on Feb. 1, 2010. The episode unfolded after Borchardt approached Huber and asked him to move his sidewalk campsite away from her office at 4 N. Washington St. because it might alarm her young patients, prosecutors said.

Huber’s attorneys claimed at trial this week that Borchardt was the aggressor, an accusation she vehemently denied. Judge Karen Wilson on Thursday set Oct. 21 to deliver a verdict, prosecutors said. Borchardt, who also is suing Huber for defamation, now practices in Warrenville.
