3 accused of shooting Buffalo Grove windows with BB guns

Three people have been arrested after they admitted to shooting BBs at 12 vehicles over the weekend in Buffalo Grove and shot out a picture window of a residence, according to police.

A resident of the 700 block of Patton Drive called police during the early morning hours Saturday after the window was shot out with a BB. The resident saw a silver sedan driving away, and officers spotted a vehicle matching the description a short time later and pulled the car over just after midnight, according to police.

Three people were inside the vehicle, and a search revealed a black replica BB gun of Beretta 92F handgun and replica automatic Uzi submachine gun BB gun, police said.

Police said they questioned the suspects and determined 12 vehicles were damaged by the BBs.

Jackson Aren, 20, of the 1700 block of Country Club Drive in Hawthorn Woods, Antonio Hatcher, 19, of the 1100 block of Museum Drive in Vernon Hills, and a 17-year-old boy were each charged with a felony count of criminal damage to property, according to police.

Police said there have been several other incidents involving damage from BB guns that occurred in the Lake County portion of Buffalo Grove this month that may be linked to this incident. Further charges are possible.

All three were released on $10,000 individual recognizance bonds and are due in court on Oct. 12.
