Schaumburg High School teacher wins chemistry award

Schaumburg High School Science Teacher Susan Bober has been named the 2011 Davidson Award recipient, an honor presented annually by the Chemical Industry Council of Illinois and the Illinois Chemical Education Foundation to the outstanding chemistry teacher in the state.

Candidates are evaluated on several points, including their teaching methods, their participation in special programs, and their teaching success with students.

This is the 45th year for this prestigious award, and the fourth time that a District 211 staff member has been named Illinois’ Outstanding Chemistry Teacher.

Previous award recipients are: Ken Spangler (1995) from Palatine High School; Michael Bachrodt (1999) from Fremd High School and Karl Craddock (2009) also from Fremd High School.
