Story hour at Mariano’s:

Mariano’s Fresh Market is bringing its “Tales for Tots” story hour for 3- to 6-year olds to its Vernon Hills store on Monday, Sept. 26. Nina Mariano, wife of Roundy’s Supermarkets CEO Bob Mariano, will read “The Cow Loves Cookies,” by Karma Wilson at 10:30 a.m. in the store’s cafe. Nina Mariano started guest reading at “Tales for Tots” in Arlington Heights last year and wanted to expand the program to the Vernon Hills store at Milwaukee Avenue and Gregg’s Parkway. The supermarket chain is partnering with Cook Memorial Public Library District. Due to limited space, parents are asked to register their children at the customer service desk or by calling (847) 816-0994.
