Coach suing Carpentersville woman

Coach isn’t only going after flea markets in its fight against what it considers as counterfeiting.

The leather-goods company sued Carpentersville resident Shannon Tiedemann and her sister-in-law, Minnesota resident Stacy Tiedemann, Monday in federal court in Chicago.

Coach alleges the two are selling counterfeit items over the Internet through their Stacy’s Pink Martini Boutique Chicago and Stacy’s Pink Martini Boutique.

A company investigator bought a handbook via a link on the Chicago boutique’s Facebook page. The boutique’s page says it sells “designer inspired and replica” accessories.

An email seeking comment from Shannon Tiedemann was responded to by Stacy Tiedemann.

She was unaware of the lawsuit, and wrote, “I haven’t heard about this and I was told that this is OK to sell. We have called many police departments and a lot of companies do it.”
