Food pantry event a rousing success

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry thanks the community for their support of “Be a Neighbor-Feed a Neighbor” Day Sept. 10. The donations at grocery and drug stores were extremely generous; donating food and bringing us closer to our building campaign goal. Our pantry volunteers and their friends along with Jacobs High School service clubs made it happen. A special thank you to the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District for supporting a “Touch a Truck” event at grocery stores. It was a great day.

In addition to the monetary and food donations, we heard many heartwarming stories about how the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry has helped families in need through the years.

The pantry is at 600 E. Oak St. in Lake in the Hills. Contact us if we can help you or if you are willing to volunteer with us. The website is www.alith-foodpantry.org.
