Teen pleads guilty to Elk Grove auto burglaries

The fourth of four Elk Grove Village teenagers accused in a string of auto burglaries late last year has pleaded guilty to the charges.

A Cook County judge sentenced 18-year-old Nicholas Minzenberger to 24 months probation, including 12 months of intensive probation, in exchange for his guilty plea to the charge of burglary, a Class 2 felony punishable by three to seven years in prison. Probation is also available.

The judge also sentenced Minzenberger to six months in Cook County Jail, with credit for the 28 days he has already served, court records show.

Police say that between Nov. 4 and Dec. 1, 2010, the defendants entered unlocked vehicles and removed items from them.

Rohn Agaton, 18, pleaded guilty to burglary and possession of stolen property in June and was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections boot camp program. Alex Pejcinovic, 18, pleaded guilty to burglary in July, and was sentenced to IDOC boot camp. Jonathan Mendez, 20, was sentenced to 24 months probation and 50 hours of community service after he pleaded guilty to the charges in April.
