Hazard plan reviewed:

A public hearing is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 at the Lake County Building, 18 N. County St., 10th floor, Waukegan, regarding an update of the All Natural Hazards Mitigation plan. The plan, intended to reduce the impact of natural hazards on people and property is federally approved and required to be updated every five years. It identifies activities that can be undertaken by the government and the private sector to reduce the safety hazards, health hazards, and property damage caused by floods, severe summer and winter storms, tornadoes, and other natural hazards. Visit lakecountyil.gov/stormwater to review a draft.
