The LASC (Lindenhurst) Twisters Blue squad competed in the Black Division of Buffalo Grove’s Kickoff Classic recently. The Twisters ran the table, posting a 4-0 record en route to the championship.

The Twisters opened the tourney against Northbrook’s Spartan Premier by recording a 2-0 win. Against the Park Ridge Blue Thunder, a well played game saw the girls hold on for a 1-0 victory.

On day two of the tourney, the Twisters beat the Arlington Aces Gold squad by a score of 3-0 and finished with a 2-1 comeback victory over the Green White Tornadoes of Mount Prospect.

Girls who scored for the Twisters were Anna Engel and Casey Moczynski with two each, and Hannah Gallo, Lindsay Smith, Lauren Allen and Molly Bakrins. An outstanding effort in the net by Smith, Bakrins and Danielle Brose limited their opponents to one goal in four games.

The keepers were assisted by the defensive play of Jensen Bernard, Savannah Good, Alyssa Kueppers, Rosie O’Malley and Maddie Wilkinson.

The girls will be playing in the IWSL’s “C” east division in the fall.
