Elgin man held for repeatedly driving on a revoked license

A Cook County judge set bail at $25,000 Saturday for a 37-year-old Elgin man who authorities say has repeatedly been cited for driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Hanover Park police arrested Juan Guajardo at about 5:20 p.m. Friday in the vicinity of Hillcrest and Highland for improper signaling, said Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Jerome Allen during Guajardo’s bond hearing in Rolling Meadows.

Court records showed that Guajardo’s license was revoked for DUI in 1996 and again in 1997, Allen, said. Court records also indicated that the defendant had been cited for driving on a suspended or revoked license three times in 1997, two times in 200 and once last year, Allen said.

Guajardo must post 10 percent or $2,500 to be released from custody. He next appears in court on Oct. 5.
