Chicago museum wants Christmas exhibit snapshots

In 2011, the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago, is celebrating 70 years of the beloved Christmas Around the World exhibit. During this landmark anniversary, MSI is collecting the special snapshots the public has taken at this Chicago tradition through the years.

The museum often hears from guests who say their visits to Christmas Around the World through the years have been a treasured part of their holiday season.

Did your parents pose you by a special tree each year as a nod to your family’s heritage? Did you capture your own child staring up in awe at the museum’s 45-foot Grand Tree, sparkling with thousands of lights?

MSI would love to see your memories captured on film, and are asking you to send in your photos and captions to the museum for possible use in a special retrospective gallery at Christmas Around the World Nov. 17 to Jan. 8.

Five people who send in photos will be selected to receive a Master’s Level family membership to MSI.

To submit your photos and memories, visit msichicago.org/Christmas and click on “Season’s Snapshots” for a submission form. Photos must be submitted online by Oct. 7 or mailed with submission form to: Season’s Snapshots, Museum of Science and Industry, 5700 S. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60637.

Entry deadline is Friday, Oct. 7.
