New playground for First UMC Preschool in Arlington Heights

Pastor Steele will be joined by First United Methodist Church's board of trustees, the preschool board, staff and children as the new playground is officially dedicated at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27.

Church should be an exciting and inviting place. When you're a 4-year-old, that means having a fun place to play,” said Rev. Tedd Steele, pastor to Families with Young Children and Youth.

First United Methodist Church will celebrate its 175th Jubilee in 2013. As a part of a decade-long master plan of renovation and additions to the church campus and building, the old playground was replaced new equipment. The total cost of the project was $32,000 for equipment and installation.

“The playground is intended for children in our preschool, in our congregation and in our community,” stated Rev. Steele.

Located adjacent to The Methodist Park owned by Arlington Heights Park District, “We're delighted to improve the life of kids in the community,” he added.
