Look at parties of high-paid officials

On Aug. 24, the Daily Herald published an in-depth article on the front page by Jake Griffin on the obscenely high salaries of local township supervisors. The highest salary listed was William Peterson of Vernon Township with a whopping annual salary of $106,000. The next four township supervisors ranged from $86,864 to $76,442.

Nowhere in the article was any mention made of the political party that these five individuals belonged to. Not a single mention of their party seemed strange, so I checked online and was amazed to find out that all five were members of the Republican Party. One leader was a Democrat but switched parties, I guess to get elected.

Seems to me in the interest of “to tell the truth” there should have been a mention that all five of these people were Republicans. If the Republican party is so interested in cutting government, they might want to start right here in the suburbs.
