Stevenson hockey teams run 5K to cancer research

Members of the 2011-12 Stevenson High School hockey teams participated in a 5K run for the Christopher Steele Foundation.

The team raised more than $2,000 in honor of Christopher Steele, a Stevenson graduate and hockey player who died of an inoperable brain tumor in 2006. The donations will benefit cancer research for sarcomas and other brain tumors.

Participants included: coach Jim Wood, coach Tom Wood, Greg Anast, Evan Baker, Corey Benjoya, Robert Biedron, Alec Blumenthal, Luke Favia, Lynden Fields, Jacob Glaser, Michael Goldfine, Robert Graff, Cam Gudmundson, Brandon Holzberg, Michael Horita, Blake Johnson, Austin Kaboff, Brady Katz, Zach Kozub, Ray Lee, Vincent Moschea, Nathan Newmark, Cole Pacchini, Trevor Patten, Ryan Rothstein, Jake Samson, Derek Schlin, Sam Schmaren, Andrew Schopen, Tommy Schroeder, Brendan Sheehan, Ari Shellist, Sam Spector, Zach Speiler, Grady Suerth, Michael Varshavsky, Ryan Wiley and Jason Wilson.
