Barrington area hospital produces cancer video

Cancer survivors or those with loved ones who have lost their battle with cancer are invited to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital’s overflow ambulance bay between 1-3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, for an event in support of breast cancer awareness. As part of the campaign Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital is producing a music video called the “Pink Glove Dance.” The hospital’s emergency medical service and trauma teams will record a segment at 2 p.m. Thursday with members of the Barrington and Lake Zurich fire departments and their fire chiefs — all outfitted in full gear. The hospital is partnering with the Northern Illinois Guardian of the Ribbon, and the group’s “Pink Heals” hot pink fire engine will be included in the video. The truck travels to events all over the country in an effort to increase cancer awareness. Pink Heals T-shirts will be available to purchase for anyone interested. Each October, area firefighters and paramedics wear pink T-shirts on the job for their own campaign, “Care Enough to Wear Pink.”
