Hanover Park holds recycling event Sept. 17

The village of Hanover Park will hold its annual recycling event, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 at the municipal complex, 2121 Lake St.

Acceptable items include cellphones, inkjet cartridges, eyeglasses, hearing aids, keys, CFL bulbs, large lead-acid batteries, household batteries, usable bikes and wheelchairs, fire extinguishers, motor oil and antifreeze, household electronic items, scrap metal and three boxes of personal documents for shredding. Clean, usable child and adult clothing also will be accepted.
