No wrist slap for insurance defrauders

I read with great interest the article about chiropractic clinics defrauding insurers. I really hope that the doctors involved don’t get off the hook by claiming they didn’t know that the practice or business manager was billing nonexistent services to the insurers.

For too long we’ve let unscrupulous physicians get away with being held accountable for their bad behavior.

At a time when many Americans are finding it difficult to meet their cost-of-living expenses, these arrogant and money grabbing individuals have the gall to line their pockets with ill-gotten gains. Not only were the insurance companies swindled, but also, the employers and average policy holders.

This is one of the reasons that insurance costs and deductibles are so high.

I urge the state board of licensing for these individuals to pull their license and make it impossible for them to ever practice again. This should be standard practice. No second chances.

Too often, in the past, they have received a slap on the wrist and been allowed to go forth continuing to defraud people and companies who are trying to do what is right.
