Music events: Kashmir gets the Led out at Viper Alley

Tribute weekend

If you're in a Beatles or Led Zeppelin mood this weekend, Lincolnshire's Viper Alley has the shows for you. American English, a popular Beatles tribute band, and Kashmir, a Led Zeppelin tribute band, will play on successive nights at the suburban club. Stop by and take a trip down memory lane!

American English performs at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, and Kashmir plays at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Viper Alley, 275 Parkway Drive, Lincolnshire. $10, $25 for American English and $8, $25 for Kashmir. Go to viper-alley.com.

Country crooner

Country-music heartthrob and hit maker Josh Turner will make an appearance in the suburbs this weekend.

Get ready to ‘Riot'

Riot Fest, the annual celebration of punk music, invades Chicago Oct. 5 to 9. More than two dozen bands will play at several venues in the city over the course of the five-day event. The lineup includes punk-pop band Weezer and old-school punk heroes like X and The Descendents. Bands with roots in the Northwest suburbs, like Dan Vapid & the Cheats and Shot Baker, also appear on the bill.
