It goes in for Flynn, Vernon Hills

Call it a win-win for Lydia Flynn.

Vernon Hills’ senior golfer carded an eagle and a birdie at Bittersweet Golf Club on Wednesday. Flynn finished with a 45, tying teammate Lauren Groody for medalist honors and leading the Cougars to a 190 and six-shot victory over host Warren.

It was the first win of the season for Vernon Hills (1-5).

Jenny Park added a 47 for Vernon Hills, while Shannon Healey (53) completed the Cougars’ scoring.

Gabby Cordova (46) and Kim Spangler (48) led the Blue Devils.

Carmel goes 1-2: In an East Suburban Catholic Conference quad at Fresh Meadows Golf Course in Hillside, St. Viator shot a winning 182, followed by Benet Academy (184), Carmel Catholic (194) and Fenwick (205).

Nikki Pavlis and Taylor Smith each shot a 47 to lead Carmel (5-7, 4-3), which hosts Highland Park today.

St. Viator’s Dana Gattone was medalist with a 41, as the Lions improved to 5-0 in the ESCC.

Libertyville d. Lake Zurich: At Willow Glen, Camilla Ou’s 40 led the Wildcats, whose 178 won easily.

Darinka Sutic added a 42 for Libertyville (6-0).

Mi-Eh Han shot a 51 for Lake Zurich (222).
