China’s corn imports may grow
China’s corn imports may jump to 5 million tons in 2011-2012, even amid forecasts for a bumper local harvest, Eric Zhu, managing director at Hanfeng Huayu (Beijing) International Trade Co.
“The global market can accomodate China’s import demand at 5 million tons, but if China’s imports rise to 7-8 million tons then the world market may look tight,” Zhu said at a forum in Shanghai.
