Girls volleyball/Fox Valley roundup

Ashley Rosch put down 10 kills Tuesday night as Cary-Grove opened the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division girls volleyball season with a 25-18, 25-11 win over Crystal Lake South.

Nicole Schuh added 3 aces and 9 digs for the Trojans (7-0) and Sheila Wilhelmi had 5 blocks.

Grayslake Central d. Hampshire: Erin Foss had 8 kills and Michelle Dumoulin added 6 but Hampshire fell 26-24, 22-25, 25-14 in a Fox Valley Fox Division opener. Kelly Meathe had 15 digs and Dakota Walther 28 assists for the Whip-Purs.

Jacobs d. Grayslake North: Alyssa Ehrhardt had 7 kills and 5 digs, Rebgecca Jobst added 8 digs and Kassie Kasper had 7 digs as Jacobs (6-2) rolled to a 25-16, 25-12 Fox Valley crossover win. Taylor Lauder added 17 assists and 5 digs for the Golden Eagles.

South Elgin d. East Aurora: The Storm opened the Upstate Eight Valley season with a 25-10, 25-18 win. Amanda Nadler had 8 kills and Bri Reum 7 for the Storm (3-3-1, 1-0). Corbin Kehe had 15 assists and Maggie Jakaitis added 11.

McHenry d. Dundee-Crown: Rebekah Hischke had 7 kills and Tess Barnes 10 assists for Dundee-Crown in this 24-26, 25-10, 25-22 Fox Valley Valley Division loss. Jillian Hostetker added 4 kills for the Chargers (1-2, 0-1) and Cassie Sommers had 8 digs.

Burlington Central d. Streamwood: Samantha Bohne had 18 digs and was 8-for-8 on serve receive and Laura Thompson added 4 spike kills and 2 blocks as the Rockets (4-6) rolled to a 25-10, 25-22 nonconference win. Allie O’Reilly had 15 assists, 2 kills and 4 digs for BC and Brenda Thasavong added 2 blocks and 3 spike kills.

Women’s volleyball

Trinity Christian d. Judson: Kylee Koon had 8 kills, Annie Holderman 5 kills and Kristen Kohlstedt 21 assists but Judson (1-5, 0-1) fell 25-12, 25-14, 25-14 in the CCAC. Molly Studer and Carissa Oelke each had 6 digs for the Eagles.
