Ÿ During his senior year, he posted a 6-2 record with 2 saves and an 0.88 ERA. He had 92 strikeouts and just 26 hits allowed in 62.2 innings.
Ÿ During the fall of his senior year, he earned all-area football honors after catching 73 passes for 1,154 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also rushed for 7 TDs. “I miss it all the time,” Crosby said. “There’s nothing better than those Friday nights playing football.”
Ÿ Drafted by Detroit in the fifth round of the 2007 draft. The Tigers bought out his baseball scholarship to Illinois with a $748,500 bonus along with $168,000 earmarked for college.
Ÿ Underwent Tommy John surgery in late 2007 after injuring his elbow in second pro outing (in Florida Instructional League).
Ÿ He spent all of 2011 in the starting rotation for the Class AA Erie Seawolves and posted a 9-7 record with a 4.10 ERA. In 253.1 professional innings, all but 17 of them at the Class A and AA levels, Crosby owns a 19-12 record with a 3.55 ERA. He has 250 strikeouts and 132 walks.
