Woodland PTO wise food talk:

Woodland Elementary District 50’s Parent Teacher Association will host a meeting focusing on the importance of making wise food choices for children at 7 p.m., Sept. 8. The presentation will be at the Woodland Intermediate School cafeteria, 1115 N. Hunt Club Road, Gurnee. “Good Food-a Prescription for Health” will feature guest speaker Dr. Sara Parvinian, a Gurnee pediatrician. She’ll address the national obesity epidemic and the importance of establishing healthy food habits early in life, so children can enjoy good health later. In addition, District 50 parent and children’s author, Anne Nagro, will discuss her work as a volunteer at Woodland Elementary West’s Harvest Garden.
