Microflex exam gloves get fire association certification

LAKE FOREST — Microflex Corporation, a subsidiary of BarrierSafe Solutions International, said its Supreno SE standard cuff nitrile disposable examination gloves has received certification from the National Fire Protection Association.

“As a leader in the EMS/first responder community, we are able to use our daily interactions with our customers to continue to improve our understanding of evolving requirements for protection and productivity,” said Kathy Zanzucchi, director of marketing.  “While for most high-risk applications we continue to recommend extended length gloves to assure the protection of the provider, we have found in some instances a product that is easier to quickly don and that is more cost effective is preferred.”

The mission of the international nonprofit NFPA, established in 1896, is to reduce the worldwide burden of fire and other hazards on the quality of life by providing and advocating consensus codes and standards, research, training, and education. The world's leading advocate of fire prevention and an authoritative source on public safety, NFPA develops, publishes, and disseminates more than 300 consensus codes and standards intended to minimize the possibility and effects of fire and other risks.

For more than 20 years, Microflex has developed and sold hand protection solutions for the dental, health care, laboratory, industrial safety, automotive, EMS and law and corrections markets.  In 2010, Frost & Sullivan recognized Microflex Corporation with the North American Protective Gloves Customer Value Enhancement award.

Supreno SE joins a list of other Microflex latex and nitrile products with NFPA certification.
